Hello! I’m Emily; I live in an old railway cottage in North Wales with my husband, our daughter Kitty and six chickens.
I spend my free time knitting, crafting and baking, and writing in this space.
Thank you for stopping by. Make yourself a cuppa and let’s see what we can talk about.
Hi Emily, I am a freelance journalist writing a Welsh recipe feature for women’s website http://www.allaboutyou.com. Would you be interested in having your recipe for beach biscuits included on Allaboutyou.com in return for a credit and a link back to your blog from the website? If you could let me know today that would be great.
Thanks so much Natalie Glock
Hi Natalie, would be happy to take part! Hope it’s not too late to let you know.
Thanks!
Emily
That’s brilliant Emily, thanks so much! I’ll send you the link through when the recipe is live. It will be reproduced as written on your blog and credited to you with a link back to your blog. Thanks again, the biscuits look great! Natalie
Fab, thanks Natalie! Looking forward to seeing it on the website.
Emily
Hi Emily,
I saw your post that featured the knitted baubles, they are lovely, Can you tell me where you got the pattern from?
Thanks
Sarah
Hi Sarah, sorry for the late reply! The pattern is from the lovely book ’55 Christmas Balls to Knit’, it’s great! You can find it here, happy knitting! x http://www.amazon.co.uk/Christmas-Balls-Knit-Colourful-Ornaments/dp/1844487814
Hi Emily,
Could I ask, the baubles you knitted did you knit them on the four pointed needles like recommended in the book? Or did you knit each side separately and then sew them together? Also, where did the pattern for the pudding ball come from?
Many thanks, love your stuff!!
Alice
Hi Alice, Yes I knitted the baubles on four needles like the book suggests. I used square graph paper to draw out the pudding pattern, based on the template in the book. It’s just wavy lines for the pudding icing, really, going all around the four sides. Then the holly is from this book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Flowers-Knit-Crochet-Lesley-Stanfield/dp/1844484033
Hope that helps! x
